Returns & Exchanges

Target Help
You have up to one year after your event date to return most new, unopened items at your Target store using your return barcode.

You can access the return barcode inside the Target Registry app. Use the menu in the top left-hand corner to select make a return to generate your return barcode. You can also access the return barcode by printing your Gifts Purchased List at a registry kiosk near Guest Services and use it just like a receipt - all you need is your password. The Gifts Purchased List includes all of the gifts purchased at Target from your registry. You can also use the Target Registry app to access your return barcode and view gifts available for return. Select make a return in the app to generate your return barcode. Make sure you also have a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license) and that your items are new, unused and in original packaging with any accessories.

If returning an item that hasn't been marked as purchased on your registry, you'll receive a refund in the form of a merchandise return card. Items purchased from Kid's Wish Lists and Shopping Lists do not have an extended return period and require a receipt or gift receipt for a return/exchange. See Target.com/returns for return policy details.

Gift givers are strongly encouraged to include a gift receipt (or Target.com packing slip) whenever a gift is purchased. Gift receipts don't display price information and they make it easy for gift recipients to return their items.

In stores, gift givers can request gift receipts during checkout, or after the time of purchase by bringing the original receipt to Guest Services.

To print a gift receipt on Target.com, sign into your Target.com account. Select the item from your order, then select returns & receipts next to the item and follow the prompts to print a standard or gift receipt.
