California (CA)

Covered electronic devices (CEDs):

  • Cathode ray tubes (CRTs)
  • LCD containing desktop monitors
  • Portable DVD players with LCD screens
  • Televisions containing cathode ray tubes
  • Computer monitors containing cathode ray tubes
  • Laptop computers with liquid crystal display (LCD)
  • Cathode ray tube containing devices (CRT devices)
  • Televisions containing liquid crystal display (LCD) screens
  • Applicable equipment (computer, monitor, TV, tuner, batteries, circuit boards, etc.)

Pennsylvania (PA)

Covered computer devices:

  • Desktop or notebook computers marketed and intended for use by a consumer

Covered television devices:

  • Electronic devices containing a tuner that locks on to a selected carrier frequency and is capable of receiving and displaying television or video programming via broadcast, cable or satellite, including, without limitation, any direct view or projection television with a viewable screen of 4 inches or larger, whose display technology is based on cathode ray tube, plasma, liquid crystal, digital light processing, liquid crystal on silicon, silicon crystal reflective display, light emitting diode, or similar technology marketed and intended for use by a consumer primarily for personal purposes

Peripheral devices:

  • Keyboards, printers, or any other device sold exclusively for external use with a computer that provides input into or output from the computer

Rhode Island (RI)

Covered electronic products (CEPs):

  • Combination units (CPUs with monitors)
  • Desktop computers (including central processing unit or CPU)
  • Televisions (including CRT-based and non-CRT-based televisions, plasma and LCD) or any similar video display device that contains a circuit board and has a screen greater than 9 inches measured diagonally

Eligible electronic devices (EEDs) are comprised of one of the following devices and are used primarily for personal use or by a school.

  • Facsimile machines
  • Consumer computers
  • Digital video disc players
  • Video cassette recorders
  • Consumer video display devices
  • Video recorders that aren't cameras and don't use a cassette
  • Digital video players that aren't cameras and don't use a disc
