Edit or cancel your order

Target Help
You may be able to cancel your order for a short period of time after you place it. To check if your order is still available for cancellation, follow these steps:
  1. Go to Target.com and scroll to the bottom of the page.
  2. Click track an order under the Help section.
  3. Either sign in to your Target.com account or search using your order number.
  4. Once your order displays, click continue.
  5. Click cancel an item on the right side of screen. Please note: if the option doesn't appear, your order can't be canceled.
  6. Click the box next to the item(s) you want to cancel and click continue.
If your cancellation request was successful, you'll receive a confirmation message.

Keep in mind, your card may still reflect a temporary authorization hold. This is not an actual charge.
Funds will become available once your bank releases the hold.

Once an order is submitted, we're not able to make any changes to it, other than canceling the entire order, which is available only for a short period of time after placing the order.

Order Pickup orders can be canceled by requesting cancellation at Target Guest Services at your pickup store, or by not picking up the order within the 4-day time window. All items from one store location will be canceled, but we're unable to cancel partial Order Pickup orders. Orders with multiple Order Pickup locations must be canceled separately (one store location at a time).

You won't be charged for canceled orders. Target only charges once an order has shipped or been picked up; a canceled order is an order that hasn't shipped or been picked up.

You can still cancel the order by refusing the delivery. When we received your refused order, we'll process a refund and send you an email to let you know that we're processing your refund.

You can also return your order to any Target store, or by mail using a prepaid Target.com return label. View our return policy for more details.

There are a few reasons why we may need to cancel an order, such as:
  • Item became unavailable
  • Incorrect address
  • Invalid payment method
For orders canceled because of address or payment reasons, you can place a new order with updated address or payment information.
