Target Help
You can request a cancellation depending on the status of items in the order.
  1. Select the order in your Target.com account to view order details (you'll need to sign in).
  2. Locate the item(s) you wish to cancel and select Request cancellation.
    • Please note the option to request cancellation will only appear for items that have yet to process for shipping. 
  3. Choose a cancellation reason, then select Cancel item.
    • These details help us find ways to improve your online shopping experience.

You'll receive an email confirming the cancellation status. You won’t be charged for a canceled item, but your card may reflect a temporary authorization hold. Funds will become available once your bank releases the hold.

If the cancellation window has passed, you can still refuse the order upon delivery. When we receive your refused order, we’ll process the return and send an email confirmation regarding your refund. You can also return your order to any Target store or by mail using a prepaid Target.com return label.

We'll send an email confirmation as soon as we receive your order. Once we start processing it, items may be canceled for reasons such as:
  • An item becomes unavailable
  • The payment method can't be processed
  • The shipping address can't be verified
For order pickup or Drive Up, we'll cancel items that aren't picked up during the pickup window. We'll send an email about the cancellation and, when possible, include helpful details around updating payment or address details or reordering items.

We do our best to ship orders quickly. Depending on the order status, you may be able to cancel your order. It may also be possible to request an address change. Once your order has shipped and tracking details are available, you can contact the carrier directly to refuse the delivery.

Depending on the status of items in the order, you can request an address change to an addressed saved to your Target.com account.
  1. Select the order in your Target.com account or the mobile app to view order details (you'll need to sign in). 
  2. Select Request address change. Please note this option will only appear for items that have yet to ship. 
  3. Select one of the addresses saved to your account.
  • To ship to an address not listed, visit your Addresses, then select Add a new address. You'll need to restart the address-change request once you've saved the new address.
  1. Select Continue and review updated order details.
  • Please note that changing the shipping address may change the estimated delivery date, shipping speed and/or taxes.
  1. Select Request address change.
  2. We'll email a status on your request.

Depending on the status of your order, you may be able to modify the payment method on your order. 
  1. Sign in to your Target.com account.
  2. Find the order you want to update, then select the order total.
  3. Select Request payment change on Order details page.
  4. Select a new payment card on Request payment change page. Select Continue.
  5. Enter CVV in security code field in pop-up window. Select Confirm.
  6. Review order updates. Select Request payment change.

If any part of your order has shipped or invoiced, we're unable to modify your payment for the other items. If your order is one of the following, we’re also unable to update your payment method: 
  • Advanced Order (BTC)
  • Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt)
  • Shipt tips
  • School List Assist (BTS)
  • Target Plus
  • Target Restock

You can cancel an item from a pickup order at any time. Select the order in your Target.com account or the Target app to view order details (you’ll need to sign in). In your Target.com account, locate the item(s) you wish to cancel and select Request cancellation. In the app, select Cancel items.

The order will be automatically canceled if it’s not picked up within the pickup window. You’ll be refunded for any canceled items. Funds will become available once your bank releases the hold.

Orders containing a combination of items sold by Target and a Target Plus™ Partner will be split into two orders. You’ll receive one order number and confirmation email for items sold by Target, and a separate order number and confirmation email for items sold by Target Plus Partners.

UPS, FedEx and USPS offer additional services to track and protect your packages. Please note, shipping carriers may charge additional fees for these services. 
  • Visit My USPS to track packages sent to your address and provide instructions for the delivery driver so the carrier knows where to leave the package.
  • Visit UPS My Choice to change the date, time and location of a delivery. You can also authorize the release of packages that require a signature, or have UPS hold packages at a local hub for pickup.
  • Visit FedEx Delivery Manager to customize a delivery time, have packages delivered to another address, request signature-required, or request to have packages held at a FedEx location for pickup.
