We have a few ways of helping you return your items and we do our best to make sure you have proof of purchase.
Return barcodes and receipts can be accessed from your Target.com account for both Target.com purchases and in-store purchases (if you’ve paid in store with a card associated to your Target.com account or your Wallet in the Target app).
For your Target.com purchases: Please refer to your delivery and shipping confirmation emails for your order, the barcode related to your purchase in your Target account or the barcode in the Target app.
We can also attempt to look up the receipt for store and Target.com purchases in store. Bring the item and the method of payment used to Guest Services within the return window allowed for that item (visit Target Return Policy
The store can look up receipts for purchases made with the following payment methods:
- Target RedCard™ (Target Debit Card™, Target Credit Card™, Target™ Mastercard®)
- Third-party Visa®, Mastercard®, American Express®, and Discover® credit cards
- Checks: You must bring a blank check from the same checking account
- Target GiftCards: You must have the physical Target GiftCard for look-up
If you don't have the proof of purchase (examples include receipts, digital barcodes, packing slips), you may receive a refund in the form of a merchandise return card
When returning an item purchased from a Target Plus™ Partner, you must provide the proof of purchase. Receipts for items sold by Target Plus Partners are sent via email when the order is shipped, and again when the order is delivered. You can also print your receipt on your order details page or use a digital barcode found within the Target app or your Target account.
