Order Pickup

Order Pickup allows you to order items from Target.com and pick them up at your local Target store. To see if an item is eligible for Order Pickup, look for Free ship to store or Free order pickup when adding the item to your cart. Items with limited or no stock in store, perishable items, and items containing hazardous material may not be eligible for Order Pickup. You can also shop from a list of Order Pickup eligible items by browsing any category and selecting Buy online & pick up from the Availability drop-down menu.

To place an order using Order Pickup:
  1. Find an Order Pickup eligible item and select color, size and quantity (if applicable).
  2. Select a store for pickup.
  • If the store listed doesn’t have the item available or you want to pick up at another location, select Check other stores. Select Pick up here or Ship it here next to a store location, or search for additional stores using a ZIP code or City and State.
  1. Proceed to checkout and submit order.
  2. Wait until you receive a pickup notification email before you go to the store to pick up your item.
  3. Visit Guest Services or the designated pickup location at your selected store to get your item(s).
  • Pickup location details will be included in your confirmation email.

Present your Mobile Wallet barcode located on the Wallet tab of the Target app, or present one of the following forms of ID to a team member at Guest Service. Be sure the ID is valid and has not yet expired. 
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • State-issued driver's license

Your online payment will be processed when your order is picked and placed on hold for you. You won't need to show your method of payment at the store.

Items can be returned at Guest Services using the receipt that is emailed to you after the item is picked up. To complete a return using the emailed receipt, print or access the receipt from a mobile device and present it at Guest Services. 

The store can also look up the receipt for your purchase using the debit or credit card you used as payment.

In most cases your refund will automatically go back to the original form of payment used for the purchase. In the event you used multiple forms of payment, your refund may be issued across all payment methods used.

Refunds to a Target REDcard typically take 1-2 days. Refunds to a third-party credit card typically take 1-3 days. For information about refunds to a third-party credit card, contact your card-issuing financial institution.

It can take up to 5 additional business days to inspect and process items returned to our Online Return Center before refunds can be processed.

For returns made in store, you may request a different refund option based on the original purchase method below.

For returns made in store without the original receipt or packing slip, you may receive a merchandise return card for your refund.

Your order will be held for 7 days. If you’re unable to pick up your order, we’ll cancel your order and issue a refund. 

You can extend your pick up window by 1 day by signing into your Target.com account or by visiting your order details page. You must do this before the end of the initial pickup window.

We’ll charge your method of payment when your order has been picked and placed on hold for you. We may put an authorization hold on your debit/credit card when you place your order, which should be removed by your card-issuing bank once your card has been charged. Please note that Target doesn’t control how long authorization holds stay on your account. You may call your card-issuing bank if you have further questions.

Sorry, but you can't change your pickup store. You must pick up your order at the Target store you originally selected. If you’re unable to pick up your order at the store you selected, you can cancel your order or let the pickup window expire.

Yes, you can add or change your alternate pickup person on the order details page by editing the delivery section, or by calling Target Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869. This person can pick up your order by presenting a valid photo ID.

Sometimes an item unexpectedly becomes unavailable. We’ll send an email to let you know as soon as possible. You can check if it’s in stock at another store near you, with the option to get free shipping for eligible items.

We'll hold your order for seven days after your order becomes ready for pickup. If it's not picked up after seven days, we'll cancel your order and return the items to the shelf. You'll receive a refund to the original payment tender for any canceled items.

When your order is ready for pickup, you’ll receive a pickup notification via email. You’ll also receive a text message notification if you entered a mobile phone number during checkout. If you selected an alternate pickup person, they’ll also receive the email notification. 

Your order will be held at the store for seven days. If your order isn’t picked up after seven days, we’ll cancel the order and issue a refund to your original form of payment. You can extend your pickup window by 1 day by signing into your Target.com account or visiting your order details page. You must do this before the end of your initial pickup window.

If you place an Order Pickup or Drive Up order, promotional items and gift cards will be shipped 5-7 days after the qualifying purchase is picked up. If you placed an order on Target.com, promotional items and gift cards won’t ship until after the qualifying purchase ships. If your qualifying purchase included a free Target GiftCard and you selected an email or mobile version, you’ll receive the gift card shortly after the qualifying purchase has been picked up or has shipped.

If the qualifying purchase item was canceled for any reason, the promotional item will also be canceled.

Keep in mind, if we’re unable to fulfill the order due to the popularity of the promotion it’s possible that the item may be canceled.

When a free gift or free Target Giftcard is offered with a qualifying item, you’ll be charged the amount of the qualifying item reduced by a Target discount equal to the amount of the gift or gift card, and you’ll be charged a separate amount for the value of the gift or gift card. The total of the two charges will equal the amount of the qualifying item.

For example, if you make a purchase under a promotion for “buy a $30 item and receive a free $10 Target GiftCard,” you’ll be charged $20 for the qualifying item and $10 for the gift card. These two charges total the price of the promotion, which is $30.

When purchasing online, you may see two authorizations and charges on your payment method as our system doesn't process the gift or gift card sale until the qualifying item is picked up or shipped. The combination of the two transactions will total the original order amount.

If you place an Order Pickup or Drive Up order, promotional items and gift cards will be shipped 5-7 days after the qualifying purchase is picked up. After your order is picked up, you will receive your receipt by email. Need a gift receipt? Select Print a gift receipt within the email. A printed receipt can be issued at the time of pick up upon request.

You’ll automatically receive a pickup notification email when your item is ready for pickup. If you added an alternate pickup person during checkout, they’ll also receive a pickup notification email.

When you place your order, you also have the option to enter a mobile phone number to receive a pickup notification by text message. Message and data rates may apply. Be sure your device is on and ready to receive incoming text messages. If you don’t receive a text message within 4 hours of placing your order (or by the next business day for orders placed after 7 p.m.), contact your carrier. Target is not liable for delays in receipt of any text messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission from your carrier.

Pickup orders can be canceled in the app by selecting Orders in the account/name tab, by calling Target.com Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869, by requesting cancellation at Guest Services in your pickup store or by not picking up the order within the seven day pickup window.
