Create & manage registry

Gift registries can be created on Target.com, in the Target app or in store by visiting Guest Services.

Creating Registry on Target.com:

1. Sign in to your Target.com account.
2. Visit the Registry page.
3. Select which type of registry or wish list you’d like to create, then select the Create button.
4. Follow the prompts to create your new registry.

Creating a Registry in the Target App:

1. Sign into the Target App.
2. Enter Registry into the search bar on the homepage.
   • You can also find registry in the Categories list.
3. Tap the Create registry button under the "Create or manage your registry" section.
4. Select which type of registry or wish list you'd like to create, then tap the Continue button.
5. Follow the prompts to create your new registry.

Remember to update your registry shipping address if you move or relocate.

Gift registries can be edited on Target.com or in store by visiting Guest Services.

Target.com

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page and select your registry.
3. From there you can:
   • Update your registry details (including names, date, location, shipping location, privacy, etc.) by selecting Edit under your registry name on your registry’s Home page.
   • To edit or delete items on your registry, select My registry from the top navigation.
   • To add items to your registry, browse categories, and find inspiration using our top registry picks and starter lists, select Add items from the top navigation.
   • To review your registry dashboard and edit registry details, select Home from the top navigation.
   • To get ideas and ensure your registry has everything you need, select Checklist from the top navigation.

Once you’ve created a registry, you can add items on Target.com or in store by visiting Guest Services.

Adding on Target.com

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page and select your registry.
3. Select Add items from the top navigation to begin building your registry.
   • To find items, you can browse by category, use our Checklist or other lists for inspiration, or search for items using the search bar. Select items may not be eligible for registry.
4. Select the Add to registry button next to an item to add it to your registry. 
5. To adjust the requested quantity, select My registry from the top navigation. Select the item, then use the "–" or "+" buttons to adjust the quantity requested.

Most Wanted Items
To let friends and family know which items you want the most on Target.com:

1. Once you've added items to your registry, on your registry’s Home page, select My registry from the top navigation.
2. Select the item, then check the Prioritize as most wanted check box.

Welcome kit offers are automatically added to your Target Circle™ offer list in the Target app and on Target.com when you create a baby registry.

Picking Up Your Welcome Kit In-Store
You can pick up your welcome kit from Guest Services at your selected store. Show the barcode to a team member on your mobile device or print it out to redeem. The welcome kit is subject to store availability. You can call ahead to find out if welcome kits are available at your Target store or other locations near you. 

Find the Barcode on Mobile Device

1. If you haven’t already, create a Target baby registry.
2. Access your Target account.
3. Select My Target icon at the bottom. 
4. Scroll down and select the Registry section. 
5. Under Registry Benefits, select Welcome kit to open the barcode.
6. Show the barcode to a Target team member at Guest Services to redeem your welcome kit.  

Find the Barcode on Desktop 

1. If you haven’t already, create a Target baby registry. 
2. Access your Target account. 
3. Select Registry from the account drop-down. Select your registry.
4. Under Offers & benefits, select the Welcome kit tile to open the barcode.
5. Show the barcode to a Target team member at Guest Services to redeem your welcome kit. 

Effective February 2023, universal registry is no longer available. Universal registry allowed registrants to add items from other non-Target sites to their Target registry. 

Gift registries can be accessed and printed at any Target store nationwide.

You have up to one year after your event date to return most new, unopened items, including most new, unopened items sold by a Target Plus Partner, at your Target store using your return barcode.

You can access the return barcode on your Target.com Registry Homepage:

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page and select your registry.
3. In the Offers & benefits section on your registry’s Home page, select Start a return.
4. Select a store.
5. The barcode is only valid at the selected store for the date it is generated on.

Refunds will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard when using a gift receipt for Registry Gift Purchase Log. If returning an item that hasn't been marked as purchased on your registry, you'll receive a refund in the form of a merchandise return card. Items purchased from Shopping Lists don't  have an extended return period and require a receipt or gift receipt for a return or exchange.

In addition, Target Plus items must be returned with a receipt / proof of purchase.

Effective February 2023, Honeyfund is no longer being offered for new registrants. Existing wedding registrants are still able to use this feature. 

We’ve partnered with Honeyfund to allow your friends and family to contribute funds to your honeymoon and newlywed experiences as a wedding gift. Use the funds for honeymoon travel, adventures, date nights, classes, entertainment and more. 

When you register for Target honeymoon and newlywed experience gifts powered by Honeyfund, a Honeyfund account will automatically be created for you. Honeyfund will send an email to confirm your account, and you’ll be able to customize your fund settings. You can also publish a Honeyfund page that is linked from your Target Registry. You can customize your Honeyfund page to include wedding details, travel plans and additional gift offerings for your guests to browse.

Friends and family can purchase Honeyfund + Target gifts which contribute funds to your account. There are zero fees for gift givers.

When you activate your account, you should choose one of two ways to redeem your gifts:

• Honeyfund Gift Card: Convert the funds to a zero-fee digital gift card, selecting from a network of digital gift card partners. 
• Cash out: Receive Honeyfund gifts as cash into your bank account through WePay for a low fee (2.4% + $0.30 USD on each gift).
• Note: If you don't choose a redemption method prior to a gift being given, the default redemption method will be a Honeyfund Gift Card, and it cannot be changed later for gifts already received.

You will also get an email reminder from Honeyfund that will include a link to choose your redemption method before you receive gifts.

Effective February 2023, Honeyfund is no longer being offered for new registrants. Existing wedding registrants are still able to be use this feature. 

No. Honeyfund + Target Registry gifts are not refundable.

You can hide Honeyfund experiences on your Target registry, which prevents gift givers from contributing to them. Once a gift has been purchased, funds will be available in the Honeyfund account. If you have received gifts, you’ll need to redeem the gifts prior to closing your Honeyfund account.

You can download and print free shower/announcement inserts to send along with invites. Choose from the following links for events related to your Target wedding, baby, or college registry.

• Announcement inserts for high school graduation (PDF Download) 

You can also share a custom link to your registry from Target.com:

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page and select your registry.
3. Select the  More (…) page from the top navigation.
4. Select Share your registry.
5. You may copy and paste the link provided, or you may create your own link name by selecting Customize your link to create your own link:
   • Enter the link name you’d like for your registry.
   • If the link name is already taken, edit or choose one the suggestions provided.

To update your shipping address on your registry:

• Note: Your registry shipping address and your Target.com account shipping address may differ.

1. Access your Target.com account.
2. Visit the Registry page and select your registry.
3. On your registry’s Home page, select Edit under your registry name.
4. In the Shipping information section, under the Where would you like your gifts shipped, select the best option.

For your privacy, we won't disclose your shipping address, phone number or email address to anyone. Gifts are automatically shipped to the address you provided on your registry.

Store Purchase
At checkout, have the cashier scan both the registry barcode as well as the gifts you’re purchasing. This will mark the item/s as purchased on the registry. The registry barcode is located on the registry printout, or it can be found by opening the registry on a mobile browser and selecting the scan at store checkout button.

Online Purchase
When items are added to your cart directly from the gift registry and purchased on Target.com, the list will be updated within 15 minutes. 

Item Purchased From a Different Retailer
Items will need to be manually marked as purchased by the registrant or the gift giver after the purchase has been made. Follow the steps below to do this.

Manually Marking Items as Purchased
Gift givers can follow the steps below if they forgot to scan the gift registry or list barcode at checkout:

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page.
3. Search for the registry or wish list by entering the first and last name of a registrant.
4. Select View registry next to the appropriate registry.
5. Locate the item you wish to mark as purchased.
6. Select Mark as purchased and follow the prompts.

Registrants can log into their registry at any time to make updates on Target.com:

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page.
3. Select the list or registry you wish to edit.
4. Select My registry from the top navigation. 
5. Locate the item you wish to update. 
6. Use the + and – buttons to edit the Would like and Purchased quantities.

For baby & wedding registries: As you get close to your baby or wedding registry event date, you’ll receive a 15% off storewide Target Circle offer that is redeemable twice. Some restrictions apply. Wedding and baby registries must be active for at least 14 days before your offer is generated.  

Finding & Receiving the Offer 

• Coupon Timing: Here’s when you can expect your 15% off coupon:  
  • Baby: Eight weeks before your expected arrival date 
  • Wedding: The week of your event date 
• Finding your Target Circle Offers: Your 15% off storewide Target Circle offer will be available at the top of your Target Circle Offers page or within the baby category (Baby Registry) or home offers category.  

Offer Details 

• Offer: 15% off your next in-store or online purchase (Limited to one Offer per Target Circle member. Redeemable up to two times. Offer may only be used once in a 12 month period). 
• Expiration Date: The 15% off registry offer expires in 6 months. Check your offer for the expiration date. 
• Exclusions: *Exclusions apply. Refer to offer for details. 

Using the Offer 

1. Join Target Circle for free at target.com/circle.
2. Find your 15% off storewide offer within your Target Circle Offers page. 
3. Select “Save offer”  
4. The offer will automatically be replied on your next two qualifying purchases online.
5. At checkout in store, there are 3 ways to redeem your saved offers:
   • Scan Wallet in the Target app 
   • Enter your phone number on the keypad or self-checkout screen 
   • Scan your offers barcode on target.com/circle/offers 

If you wish to use your second offer at another time, you can deselect “offer saved” to temporarily deactivate the coupon.  

Registrants can sign in and review or manage a registry for 548 days (18 months) after the event date. This applies to wedding and baby registries.

Gift givers can continue to search for a registry for 365 days after the event date.

Effective February 2023, group gifting is no longer being offered for new registrants. Existing registrants are still able to contribute as long as group gifting was enabled.

• Group gifting allows multiple gift givers to contribute toward an eGiftCard for the registrant to put toward the purchase of any item from a Target store or online. 
• The registrant will not receive the actual gift, they will get an eGiftCard to purchase the gift themselves. 
• The Target eGiftCard can be redeemed for the amount contributed, with no expiration date or additional fees.
• While the price of items may change, the group gift dollar amount will match the price of the item when the first contribution was made to that group gift.

How to disable Group Gifting:

• To disable group gifting, visit your registry Home page on Target.com and select Edit under your registry's name. Deselect Allow friends and family to contribute to a group gift.

Registrants can: 

• Turn the group gifting feature off.
• Determine the status of group gifting by selecting Home from their registry page on Target.com. A progress bar will display the percentage contributed by gift givers for the item. The dollar amount displayed is the price of the item when the first contribution was made to that group gift.

Important Notes:

• When you claim your Target eGiftCard before the event date, additional contributions to this gift cannot be made.
• Only one group gift per registry can be open for contributions at a time.

The registry gift tracker allows you to review who has purchased gifts from your registry and keeps track of thank you notes you’ve sent.

To use the gift tracker tool on Target.com:  

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page and select your registry.
3. In the Getting started section on your registry’s Home page, select Track your gifts to review a list of gifts purchased, along with the quantity, purchaser name and date.
4. Keep track of the thank you notes you've sent by selecting the checkbox under Thank you sent?.
5. You can also print your list by selecting Print list.

Please note:

• Group gifts are not currently available in gift tracker.
• This item will appear in gift tracker once the gift has shipped.

Occasionally, you may find that an item has been discontinued. If so, we apologize for the inconvenience. However, discontinued items are usually replaced by newer or more up-to-date items that you can easily add to your list at any time. If any of the items on your registry become discontinued, they will appear in the Discontinued section of your My registry page on your registry's dashboard on Target.com. You will also receive an email when items on your list have been discontinued. Just sign in to your registry online to edit any discontinued items.

When you create a registry, your list is publicly available online, on Target.com and in Target stores. Your friends and family can search for your registry or list on Target.com and in Target stores. Your registry may also appear in searches on TheKnot.com (and its partner sites), MyRegistry.com, making it easier for people to find your registry.

If you check the box next to Make my registry private across Target.com, Target stores and other registry or partner sites, your list or registry will be hidden, meaning people can’t search for the list on Target.com or in Target stores. A direct link must be shared with them.

To edit these settings once a registry or list has been created on Target.com:

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page and select your registry.
3. On your registry’s Home page, select Edit under your registry name. 
4. Under the Registry settings section, check the box Make my registry private across Target.com, Target stores and other registry or partner sites.

Your shipping address, phone number and email address will not be visible to anyone who views or orders from your registry, nor will they be shared with other registry websites.

You can delete your registry on Target.com:

1. Access your Target account.
2. Visit the Registry page and select your registry.
3. On your registry’s Home page, select Edit under your registry name. Select Delete registry.

Once deleted, you won’t be able to access your registry or wish list again. Deleting your registry will not delete your Target.com account.
