The Target Tech Trade-In program is a convenient way for you to trade in your select used electronics for a Target eGiftCard.

Target eGiftCards issued by Target Tech for electronics trade-ins can be used to make purchases at: 
  • Target Tech kiosks
  • Target stores
  • Target.com
  • Target Optical (excluding optometrists)
  • Merchants within a Target store (e.g., Pizza Hut® or Starbucks®)

The Target Tech Trade-In program is available in all Target stores. Visit Target Tech in the Electronics department to start the trade-in process.

Certain accessories may be required to receive full value if trading hearables (that integrates a speaker and microphones), smart speakers, gaming consoles or video games. Details will be provided based on device-specific questions when you create your trade-in quote.

The condition accessed at our processing facility is the final determination. Devices cannot be shipped back.

  1. Visit tradein.target.com or the Electronics department at participating Target locations to get started with your trade-in. 
  2. Search our trade-in catalog for the item you're looking to trade. 
  3. Answer a few quick questions about the condition of your item.
  4. If you accept the trade-in quote, you'll receive an email that includes a printable prepaid USPS shipping label and instructions for preparing your item for shipment.
    • You'll need to ship your device using your own packing and shipping supplies. 
  5. Receive your Target eGiftCard after our processing facility completes the review and quality assurance processes.

Ship your device by using an appropriately sized box or padded envelope and additional protective materials such as bubble wrap to protect the device during transit. Target and Assurant are not liable for any loss or damage to your device while in transit.

The value may be adjusted based on the review of the trained inspection team if the condition determined at the facility is different than represented on the initial trade-in quote. The processed condition and value is final and devices cannot be returned.

The trade-in quote is valid for 30 days. We suggest planning on 7 days in USPS transit time.

Once your device is received and processed at Assurant's facility you'll receive a Target eGfitCard within 7 business days to the email address entered when the quote was created.

You can check the status of your trade-in at tradein.target.com. If your device has been processed and you haven't received your Target eGiftCard, please check your email's trash and spam folders. If you received the email confirming the receipt of your trade-in, but haven't received the email with your Target eGiftCard within 7 business days, contact our trade-in partner at targettradein@assurant.com or 1-866-959-3200.
