Target App
  1. Access your Target account under My Target in the Target app.
  2. Select the gear icon in the upper right corner to edit the following in your account:
    • Profile: Update your name, team member number (if applicable), and contact information. 
    • Payment cards: Add, edit or remove payment card.
    • Gift cards: Add gift card to Wallet, view balance of stored gift cards and view stored gift card history.
    • Addresses: Add, edit or remove shipping address.
    • Memberships: View and manage any memberships.
    • Shopping partners: Invite guess to assist with Drive Up and Order Pickup orders.
    • Security: Change your account password, add a passkey to your account.
    • Wallet Security: Select how to access to pay with your RedCard in your Wallet.

Target.com
  1. Access your Target account on Target.com.
  2. Select Account and updated accordingly:
    • Orders: Track, manage & return.
    • Settings: Manage addresses, set or change your store, edit your contact information, view/delete signed in devices, change password, add a passkey to your account
      • Changing the email address associated with your account? Under Settings on Target.com, select Edit under your email address. Enter a new email address, then select Save. Your email address won't be updated until it's verified. Check your current email to verify your email change request. This functionality is not available in the Target app.
    • Addresses: Add, edit or remove a shipping or billing address. Changes to addresses won't affect current orders.
    • Target Circle: Manage your Target Circle account.
    • Savings: View your savings and different types of savings.
    • Recently Viewed: History of recently viewed items.
    • Shopping Partners: Invite guests to assist with Drive Up and Pickup orders.
    • Gift cards: Manage or check balance of Target GiftCards.
    • Payments: Add, edit or remove payment options in your Target account.
    • Target Circle Card: Sign up for or manage Target Circle Card.
    • Memberships: Manage membership information.

Credit card re-entry will be required if a billing or shipping address is updated during checkout, ordering a gift card or item is being sent via digital delivery.

  1. Access your Target account under My Target in the Target app.
  2. Select Profile under the gear icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Select Edit in Name field.
  4. Make necessary changes, then select Save.

  2. Select Account from name icon drop-down menu.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select About me, then select Edit.
  5. Make necessary changes, then select Save.

A passkey is a password alternative that helps you securely sign in with a key unique to you, like your fingerprint or face. They're more secure and convenient than passwords, but you can use both to sign in.

To create a passkey, sign in using your password, then visit Sign in & security from your Account settings.

No. When you sign in with a passkey, you’ll be prompted to provide the key you’ve chosen for it (like your fingerprint).

Unlike passwords, passkeys aren’t vulnerable to hacks because they’re stored locally on your device. Passkeys are encrypted and unique to you, meaning no bad actors can guess them.

Only you have access to your passkey. Once you add one to your account, Target will know you’ve enabled signing in with a passkey, but we won’t be able to access any other information about it. Target will never see or store your passkey or the key you chose to create it.

Passkeys are saved to your password manager, so you can use them to sign in across multiple devices. When you sign in, select the passkey option, then follow your device or browser’s instructions. Depending on your device, you can either input your key directly, or use the device you used to create your passkey to complete your sign-in.

You can remove a passkey any time from your Sign in & security settings. Removing a passkey from Target only removes it from your account. To delete a passkey altogether, you’ll need to manually delete it from your browser or system settings.

The ability to add shopping preferences is currently limited to a select number of guests. If you see the Shop a smarter Target.com banner or the Shopping preferences option on your Target.com account, you can use this feature now.
 
Shopping preferences allow you to personalize your online shopping experience, making it even easier to shop Target.com.

Shopping preferences can be found and managed in your account on Target.com. Preferences aren’t currently available in the Target app.

  1. Sign in to your Target.com account.
  2. Within your Target.com account, select Shopping preferences (or select the Shop a smarter Target.com banner).
  3. Check the categories you shop most, then check your favorite Target brands. Select all that apply, then select Save & continue.

Your preferences can be managed by signing in to your Target.com account, selecting Shopping preferences and then Edit or Delete.

We’ll enhance your Target.com shopping experience in the coming months. We may occasionally ask you to update your preferences. Your preferences can also be managed by signing in to your Target.com account.

In most instances, these situations are the result of mistyped entries by guests with personal information similar to yours, such as a similar phone number or email address. While you may occasionally receive unfamiliar order information due to these typographical errors, there is no associated security risk for either party.

If you suspect that your personal information has been compromised, please review all Target.com orders and associated payment information, then contact your financial institution for any unidentified charges. If needed, please chat or give us a call at 1-800-591-3869, and our team members will be happy to assist in disabling the Target.com account. 

We also encourage you to change the passwords associated with your personal email, shopping information and online banking access to maintain strong security.

How do I verify my status?
  • Target app – Go to the My Target tab, tap Settings (wheel icon) in the top right corner, and select Teacher verification under the Your discounts section. This is where you can enter your information and submit the verification form.
  • Target.com – Log in to your account and select Account from the dropdown under the “Hi” greeting. Select Settings in your Target account and then select Verify status in the Discounts section, then select Verify status in the Teacher section. This is where you can enter your information and submit the verification form.

Who is eligible for Target’s teacher discount?
  • First, you must be a Target Circle™ member. The following individuals are eligible for a teacher discount: 
    • Teachers, staff, and faculty employed by K-12 schools and colleges/universities in the United States
    • Daycare center and early childhood learning center teachers
    • Home school teachers
What documentation is accepted?
  • Your school-issued document must show:
    • First and last name
    • School name
    • Date in the current academic year
Acceptable examples include:
  • Teacher ID card with valid date
  • Pay stub from within last 90 days
Note: If the organization shown in your paystub doesn't match your school’s name, you may be asked to upload new documentation. The new proof must match to show the paystub organization and school are connected.

Why wasn’t I verified right away? 
  • Your verification may not have been successful due to common issues such as using a nickname or a typo when entering information. Please review all your information to ensure it was entered correctly and as shown on your official documents. 
  • Common issues may include: 
    • Difference in name as it appears on documents. For example, official documents list the first name as "Jamie" but "Jay" is submitted on the verification form.
    • General typos (Ex. Entered wrong birth year)
How will my personal information be used? 
  • Information entered will be used for verification purposes, for Target Circle benefits and in accordance with Target’s privacy policy. To verify your eligibility, Target partners with SheerID, a nationally-recognized eligibility verification service. SheerID will not rent or sell your information. 
Why haven’t I received my discount? 
  • Your Target Circle Bonus  will appear in your account when there is a live campaign taking place. Please allow up to 1 hour after you successfully verify as a teacher. 
  • If your bonus  still doesn’t appear, please check your account to make sure your verification was successful. 
    • If you’re having trouble verifying via SheerID, please visit their help center
    • If you’re verified, enrolled in Target Circle and still can’t locate your bonus, please reach out to Target’s Help Center.

    • Your discharge date (if applicable)
Note: Please enter all information including your name as it appears on your documents.

Accepted Documents for Service Members:
  • Military pay stubs - Leave & Earnings Statement (LES)
  • Record briefs - ARB/ERB/ORB (US Army)
  • Reserve Activation Orders
  • Enlistment contracts

Accepted Documents for Veterans/Retirees:
  • DD214 form
  • Driver’s License or DMV-Issued State ID with VETERAN endorsement
  • Honorable Discharge Certificate
  • NGB form 22
  • Reserve Separation Orders
  • Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC), or Veteran Identification Card (VIC)
  • Retiree Account Statement (eRAS)
  • VA disability letter

A shopping partner allows you to add up to ten Target guests to share in your Target Run activities.

All Target guests are eligible to add a shopping partner. 
  • To get started, select Add a new shopping partner and fill in first name, last name, email and relationship of the shopping partner you would like to team up with. Add an optional message in the note field to let them know why you would like them to be your shopping partner. 
  • Once you add your partner you will need to verify your account through a one-time passcode. The passcode will be sent to your email before your invitation is sent to your shopping partner. At that time, your shopping partner will be able to join your team from their email by either logging in with their existing Target account or creating a new account.  
  • The email address in the invite will need to match the email your shopping partner uses for their Target account.

  • If your shopping partner hasn’t accepted your invite, you will see pending or expired (if they haven’t accepted after 4 days) in the shopping partner screen. 
  • You can select resend invitation or reach out directly to your shopping partner to encourage them to accept your invite.

  • Under AccountShopping Partners, look under My shopping partners. Select the person you choose to remove and select Edit to the right of their name. This will open up a page with their first name, last name and relationship.
  • Select Remove under Relationships and you'll be prompted to Cancel, which will keep them as your shopping partner or Remove which will remove them as your shopping partner. Your shopping partner will not be notified of removals. 

Target.com
  • Under AccountShopping Partners, look under My shopping partners. Select the small down arrow to the right of the person you would like to remove. This will expand and provide options to Edit details and Remove.  Select Remove. This will open up a new page where you will be prompted to Cancel, which will keep them as your shopping partner or Remove which will remove them as your shopping partner. Your shopping partner will not be notified of removals.
