Print a receipt

Target Help
You can access a return barcode or gift receipt from Target.com once you've received or picked up your return. Transactions will be available within a few hours up to approximately one year. 

Target App
Invoices aren't available in the Target app. Access your account on Target.com to view an invoice.
  1. Access the Target account tab in the app.
  2. Select Purchase history to locate your order.
  3. Select the order you want to return an item from.
  4. Select Return an item or Return options.
  5. From there, you can: 
    • Present the barcode to Guest Services while returning an item.
    • Share gift receipt.
Target.com
  1. Access your Target account.
  2. Select Orders to locate your order.
  3. Select View orders to find order details.
  4. Select Receipts and invoices.
    • For returns, present the barcode on your mobile device to Guest Services or select Print receipts.
    • To print a gift receipt, select Print gift receipt.
    • To review a detailed copy of your transaction, select View detailed invoices.

Remember to check the Target return policy to make sure the item is eligible for a return.

You can request a receipt or gift receipt at the time of your purchase, or you can request a gift receipt after the time of purchase by bringing the original receipt to Guest Services before it expires.

You can also access a return barcode or print a gift receipt from Target.com and the Target app, if you’ve paid with a card associated to your Target.com account, used your Wallet in the Target app, or entered a phone number registered with Target Circle at checkout. Transactions will be available within a few hours for up to approximately one year. At this time, unless you scanned your Wallet in the Target app or you entered a phone number registered with Target Circle at checkout, purchase details for transactions made using Target GiftCard (not linked to your Wallet), check or cash aren't available. 

Target App
  1. Access the Target account tab in the app.
  2. Select Purchase history to locate your order.
  3. Select the order you want to return an item from.
  4. Select Return an item or Return options
  5. Present the barcode to Guest Services while returning an item.

Target.com
  1. Access your Target account or Create account.
  2. Select Orders to locate your order.
  3. Toggle to the In-store view (will appear underneath the word Orders).
    • Only purchases paid with a card associated to your Target.com account or your Wallet in the Target app will appear.
  4. Select View orders to find in-store purchase details.
    • For returns, present the barcode on your mobile device to Guest Services or select Print return barcode.
    • To print a gift receipt, select Print gift receipt.

Gift givers are strongly encouraged to include a gift receipt (or Target.com packing slip) whenever a gift is given. Gift receipts don't display price information and they make it easy for gift recipients to return their items. Remember to check the Target return policy to make sure the item is eligible for a return.

In-store purchase details will appear in your Target.com account and within your Target app when:
  • Your Wallet barcode is scanned at the register to apply Target Circle offers 
  • Your Wallet barcode is scanned at the register to apply a payment tender that is linked to your account
  • A saved payment tender in your account is physically swiped at the register 
  • You enter your phone number linked to your Target Circle account when checking out in store
These transaction details will be available within a few hours and for up to approximately one year. At this time, unless you scanned your Wallet in the Target app, purchase details for transactions made using Target GiftCard (not linked to your Wallet), check, and cash are not available.

Target App
  1. Access the Target account tab in the app.
  2. Select Purchases.
  3. Toggle to In-store, which appears underneath the word Purchases.
  4. If purchases do not display, be sure to scan your Wallet barcode at checkout, or you may need to associate your card to your Target.com account:
    • Navigate to your account tab in the Target app.
    • Select Payment cards.
    • Select Add payment card.
    • Add a payment card to your account.
    • Navigate back to your Purchases.
    • Toggle to In-store once again.
    • You will see in store purchase details made with the card you just added. 

Target.com
  1. Access your Target account or Create account.
  2. Select Orders.
  3. Toggle to In-store, which appears underneath the word Orders.
  4. If purchases do not display, be sure to scan your Wallet barcode at checkout, or you may need to associate your card to your Target.com account:
    • Navigate to your Target.com account.
    • Select Payment.
    • Select Add a card.
    • Add a payment card to your account.
    • Navigate back to your Orders.
    • Toggle to In-store once again.
    • You will see in store purchase details made with the card you just added. 

Unrecognized Purchase Listed in In-Store Purchase History
  • Any in-store purchases that were made with that associated card number will display.
    • If you have given others access to card numbers associated with your account, those purchases may also display.
  • In-store purchase history will show any/all transactions in your account for the following:
    • Your Wallet barcode is scanned at the register to apply Target Circle offers 
    • Your Wallet barcode is scanned at the register to apply a payment tender that is linked to your account
    • A saved payment tender in your account is physically swiped at the register
    • You enter your phone number linked to your Target Circle account when checking out in store.
  • Check the Payments/Payment Cards section of your account to make any necessary updates removing any unwanted saved payments. 
    • Saved payment tenders will need to be removed from your account to no longer view future transaction history.

If you are looking for an invoice for your order, please visit your Orders, then locate and select the correct order. 
  • Target app: Select Receipts and invoices. Select the options in the pop out window.
  • Target.com: Please visit your Orders, then locate and select the correct order. Select the order total to view the Order summary
You don’t need a packing slip to return your items, you can use the returns barcode in your shipment confirmation email, the returns barcode in your Target app, or visit your Orders page, select Return an item and either bring your item to your nearest Target store or mail it back.
