  • Shipt has implemented no-contact deliveries where shoppers are completing deliveries by leaving items at guests’ doors. 
  • Shoppers are able to pick up gloves and face masks at their local Target stores. Shipt also has sent individual safety kits, including gloves and hand sanitizer, to the most active shoppers and those in high-risk areas. 
  • Shoppers are encouraged to follow CDC guidance for maintaining hygiene.

Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt) from Target.com and the Target app provide delivery from your local Target store via a local community of reliable shoppers. Once you become a member, eligible items can be delivered during available delivery windows. You can select a one-hour delivery window, and a shopper will fulfill and deliver your order during normal store business hours.

Visit our Same Day Delivery page on Target.com or use the Target app on your mobile device. Download the Target app in the Apple® App Store if you have an iOS device or if you're an Android user, download the Target app in the Google Play store.

Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt) is available in all major metro areas and throughout most of the U.S., however, there are still some areas where availability is limited. Visit our Same Day Delivery page on Target.com or check out in the Target app to determine if Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt) is available in your area.

There are four ways to place an order using Same Day Delivery:
  • Visit the Same Day Delivery home page on Target.com.  
  • Or select Same Day Delivery when shopping for eligible items on Target.com.
  • Or select Shop by category or on the Essentials tab in your account in the Target app.
  • Or place a Target order on Shipt.com or via the Shipt app.

You can place as many orders as you want with a $35 minimum order if you choose to enroll in an annual plan, or you may choose to pay a $9.99 delivery fee for each eligible order.
  • If you're a Shipt member paying with an EBT card, you won't have to meet the $35 minimum, but instead can pay the $7 delivery fee with another form of payment.

Groceries, essentials, pets, baby, personal care, beauty, health, bath, bedding, kitchen & dining, toys, sporting goods & outdoors, luggage & backpacks, and school & office supplies are all eligible for Same Day Delivery

Keep in mind, some items are excluded from Shipt including:
  • Select clothing, shoes & accessories
  • Select electronics & video games
  • Services (Starbucks, Target Café, Target Mobile)
  • Alcohol*
  • Limited Time Offers
  • Items over 40 lbs.

To find out what items are available for Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt):
  1. Enter item into Search field. Locate item.
  2. Select Deliver it or Add to Cart under Same Day Delivery option. 
    • If you don't have a Shipt membership, you'll have an option to start a membership at checkout. 
    • If you decide you don’t want a Shipt membership, you can pay a $9.99 delivery fee per order.

Currently, you can purchase any item as long as it is available to be delivered through same-day delivery service. However, we’ve placed quantity limits at checkout on essential products (like hand sanitizer, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, ibuprofen, and more). Due to high demands for essential items, we’re continuing to make adjustments to update inventory and quantity limits as needed.

    • You’ll see the local store price for select items if you’re at the store and you have your location services turned on in your phone.
    • If your location services are turned off in your phone, you’ll see the price for your set store for select items.

Promotions, discounts and Target Circle offers are always changing. If you have included a promotion, discount or offer with your order, your receipt may only reflect those that are active when the shopper picks your order and will not include those that have expired.

  • If you are interested in signing up for a membership today: At checkout, you can purchase a non-refundable annual membership for $99 for Same Day Delivery orders over $35.
    • If you're a Shipt member paying with an EBT card, you won't have to meet the $35 minimum, but instead can pay a $7 delivery fee with another form of payment.
  • If you are interested in using Same Day Delivery but not the membership: You may choose to pay a $9.99 delivery fee for each eligible order.

If you were already enrolled in a free, 4-week trial Shipt membership: You can cancel any time prior to the end of your free trial. When your free trial ends, if you have not canceled, you’ll automatically be charged for a $99 annual plan for unlimited Same Day Delivery orders over $35, or you may choose to pay a $9.99 delivery fee for each eligible order.  

Effective October 2021, we no longer offer a 4-week free trial. 

Need to cancel your membership? 
If you’re still in your membership trial period, you can cancel by accessing your Target account. If you’ve passed the trial period, please contact Target.com Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869.

The final charged amount will always reflect the cost of the items that you receive. There are several reasons that this charge could be more or less than the original total at checkout. 
  • Out of stock items: Items that are out of stock in the store will be removed from the order, reducing the final charge.
  • Substitutions: If the item you requested is out of stock and an adequate substitution is selected, you'll be charged for the price of the substituted item.
  • Special Requests (for Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt) only): We won't know the cost of these items until the shopper finds them in the store.
  • Added Items (for Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt) only): Items added to your cart after checkout will not be reflected in the original total.

Substitutions are only available in the Target app.

Substitutions are replacement items for things that are out of stock when we shop your order. We offer substitutions for eligible items in Order Pickup, Drive Up and Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt) orders.  
  • You can add a specific substitution for eligible items in cart, or you can adjust your Substitution Preferences in checkout. 
  • You’ll be charged for the price for any substitution you receive, and therefore your final total may change if you’ve opted into any kind of substitute.  
  • Alcoholic beverages aren’t eligible for any kind of substitutions. Other items may not be eligible for all substitution options.  
  • If using SNAP EBT as payment on the order, you’ll need a secondary form of payment to pay for possible substitutes. 
  • We don’t currently accept Apple Pay or PayPal as payments for orders with substitutes. 

Order Pickup & Drive Up Orders 
If you have a specific item in mind as a replacement, you can add one preferred substitute per item in cart.  

You can also choose or adjust your Substitution preferences in checkout. We offer several substitution options, including: 
  • We'll find a similar item: We’ll only get the original items you’ve chosen and no replacements. 
  • Review what we pick: If something is out of stock, we’ll get a similar item that is in stock.  
    • We’ll show you a likely example of what this substitute will be, however, we can’t promise it will be this item. 
    • You’ll review anything we’ve picked before you pick up your order in the Target app, and you’ll only pay for what you approve. 
  • Pay for the items you keep: If something is out of stock, we’ll look for your preferred substitute item. You can also choose or edit this item in cart.  
    • Bonus: We’ll remember this preferred substitute if you ever reorder the original item. You can always edit this in cart in the future, and we’ll remember your changes. 

Same Day Delivery Orders (shopped by Shipt)
If you’d like to choose a replacement per item or have a specific replacement item in mind, you can add one preferred substitute per item in cart.  
  • Bonus: We’ll remember this preferred substitute if you ever reorder the original item. You can always edit this in cart in the future, and we’ll remember your changes. 
Otherwise, you can choose your Substitution preferences for your entire order in checkout. We offer several substitution options, but we will default to our Shipt shoppers texting you when any items are out of stock when your order is shopped.  

Substitution options for Same Day Delivery include: 
  • Text me: If something is out of stock, the shopper will work with you over text messaging and decide on substitutes together. This is the default option. 
  • Similar item: If something is out of stock, the shopper will use their best judgement to pick a substitute. 
  • Don’t substitute: We will only get the original items or specific substitutes you’ve chosen. 
  • Note: If you’ve chosen a specific substitute in cart, the shopper will use that instead, and won’t attempt to find additional substitutes for that item.  

You can update substitution choices for Same Day Delivery orders up until your order is being shopped.

Drive Up & Order Pickup
In checkout:
  1. Select Edit next to Substitution preference
  2. Look through your list of items and make sure to select the radio button next to Don’t substitute for each item.

Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt)
In cart: Double check that none of your items have substitute items added for individual items. If you’ve added a substitute here in the past, we remember it.

In checkout:
  1. Select Edit next to Substitution preference
  2. Select radio button next to Don’t substitute

Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt) on Target.com or the Target app accepts all major U.S. credit and debit cards including Target RedCard (and the Target RedCard 5% discount) and reloadable gift cards. SNAP EBT cards can be used for eligible Same Day Delivery orders placed on Target.com and the Target app.

Same Day Delivery (shopped by Shipt) doesn’t accept Apple Pay®, PayPal®, Affirm or coupons.

If you are using the same email address for both your Shipt and your Target account and you've added a phone number to your Shipt account, your accounts should link automatically. 

If your email addresses do not match, you can either change your Shipt email address to match your Target account email address, or you can change your Target email address to match your Shipt account email address.

If your accounts are still not linking, log out of your Target and Shipt accounts, clear your cache and cookies, and attempt to log back in to your Target and Shipt accounts.

Shipt delivers seven days a week with the exception of certain holidays, and shoppers are available whenever the store is open. 

Deliveries can be scheduled for a one-hour window as soon as one hour after your order is placed. You'll be able to select Drop-off delivery to have your delivery left at the door. If no one is home at the time of delivery, the shopper will call your mobile device to ask for options on how to complete the delivery. Please note, this could affect any perishable items.

Orders can be edited or canceled up to one hour before your chosen delivery window.

To edit your order:
  1. Access your Target account.
  2. Select Orders on Target.com or Purchases in the Target app, then select Online tab.
  3. Select the order you’d like to edit.
  4. Select the item you’d like to edit or select Add an item to add an additional item.

To cancel order:
  1. Access your Target account.
  2. Select Orders on Target.com or Purchases in the Target app, then select Online tab.
  3. Select order you’d like to cancel.
  4. Select Cancel order next to Change your mind?, then select Cancel order in pop-up drawer.
